A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Sergios Rotar and I’m a college student currently in my 2nd year at the University of Piraeus, Greece, specializing in Maritime Studies.
My social anxiety started to kick in around high school, and then it grew up. I stayed many nights inside because I didn’t want any social interactions, even with my own friends. And of course, I could not even stare at a girl’s eyes without feeling awkward, let alone speaking to her. I was uncomfortable in my own skin, didn’t love myself, and isolating myself was the worst thing I did.
In my head, I had a big idea for myself, and I thought that that was enough: I couldn’t be afraid of looking at a girl’s eyes or going out with my friends. I can’t have negative thoughts all the time. I can’t live my life the way others want (people-pleasing).
I started my own self-improvement journey and fast-forward 2 years later, Mental Style Project started.
I created this mental health blog to help other people better themselves and to have a safe place to vent about the trials of social anxiety, by writing my own experiences.
