To me, minimalism isn’t just about stuff, but instead, it’s about embracing the joy of life by focusing on what really matters.

My Story

It all started about ten years ago—like always—I was running late. I rushed into my training session, out of breath, rattling off a string of excuses about how busy I was when my trainer casually asked if my car was messy.

I laughed unphased and admitted yes. But what happened next changed everything…it hit me like a ton of bricks. He calmly said, “You have clutter. It’s a symptom of another problem.” Of course, he didn’t know what was causing my clutter, but he challenged me to figure it out. He went on…you can’t organize clutter—you have to get rid of it for peace. And from that moment on the seed was planted. I needed to let go.

I had to figure out what was I holding onto that was holding me back? Clutter isn’t a symptom of laziness. Rather it’s usually the result of something else like finding comfort in things, fear of losing something, a scarcity mindset, among other things.

In my case, I just had too much stuff because I wasn’t letting go of enough stuff. I honestly wasn’t paying attention. Nobody taught me to declutter. I didn’t know it was an ongoing process.

Now, as a mom, I’ve learned that simplicity is a gift I want to pass on to my family. It’s more than not buying stuff. It’s about creating space for more—more meaningful moments, more wellness, and more joy. This mindset drives everything I do, from writing stories that inspire others to crafting content that encourages intentional living.
