How to Do the Blanket Method for Shifting in 5 Simple Steps (2023)
If you’ve been following the shifting community lately, you’ve probably come across a variety of shifting methods, some of which can be done while sleeping and others while awake.
But what exactly is the blanket method?
The blanket method for shifting realities is quite popular on apps like TikTok, amino, and Wattpad, and it involves snuggling under your blanket and reciting affirmations until you’ve shifted to your desired reality.
While scripting is important for the raven method of shifting, it is not required for the blanket method.

Although, you are free to create a shifting script and run through it repeatedly every day to imprint in your mind what reality you want to experience once you’ve shifted successfully.
Here are the 5 steps on how to use the blanket method for shifting to your desired reality.
Step 1: Raise your Vibration.
The first step of the blanket method is to raise your vibration!
Your vibration reflects how you feel on a daily basis. It can be raised or lowered based on the actions you take and the thoughts you have. You must learn how to raise your vibration if you want to shift successfully.
Some good ways to raise your vibration are:
• Listening to subliminals
• Listening to music that reminds you of your desired reality
I actually recommend meditating 5-10 minutes from the options above and I’ll explain why.
You are a naturally high-vibration being, but your negative thoughts and beliefs keep you from vibrating at your full potential.
This is why meditation is so effective at returning your vibration to its proper place.
When you meditate, you clear your mind of all racing thoughts.
As a result, your vibration can be restored to its natural high-vibration state. Here’s how to meditate for shifting realities.

Stер 2: Snuggle Under your Blanket.
The second step is pretty straightforward.
Essentially, you want to hide under your blanket on your bed. Simply tuck your entire body (including your head) beneath the blanket.
This may not be a good method for people who are afraid of small spaces! If you feel like you can’t breathe, don’t push yourself.

Stер 3: Recite Shifting Affirmations.
The third step towards shifting to your desired reality with the blanket method is to begin affirming that you are in your DR bed now.
The following are some examples of shifting affirmations:
- I’m in my DR’s bed.
- My DR bed is extremely comfortable.
- I enjoy sleeping in my DR bed.
- I’m relieved to be in my DR bed.
Try to feel as if you’re there, and that you’re living it up.
Once you have a strong mental image of your desired reality, focus on the high vibrational energy that this brings you. Visualize how good it makes you feel.
This is the kind of energy you want to have while shifting.

Stер 4: Count to 100 Whilst Reciting Affirmations.
Once you’ve found a comfortable position beneath your blanket and affirmed that you’re in your desired reality’s bed, slowly count to 100.
While counting to 100, recite one shifting affirmation between each tenth number.
For example, “…8,9,10, I am shifting tonight,11,12…”
Some examples of shifting affirmations are:
- I am in my desired reality.
- I am shifting to my desired reality.
- I love being at my desired reality.
- My desired reality is awesome.
- I will go to my desired reality.
When you are close to 100, you should be able to experience some shifting symptoms, like numbness, itchiness, etc. Don’t be scared!
It’s fine if you experience tingling and numbness in your arms and legs because you want your consciousness to be awake while your body sleeps.
The tingling and itching sensation is your brain determining whether you are still awake or asleep as a result of your inactivity.

Stер 5: Come out of the Blanket and Enjoy Being in your DR.
Now, for the fifth and final step of the blanket method. There are two ways you can treat it.
You can use it as a sleep method or as an awake method. The choice is up to you.
If you want to sleep and then wake up in your DR, simply close your eyes, remove the blanket from your head, and adjust yourself to any comfortable position before falling asleep.
If you want to go all the way instead of sleeping, keep counting until you feel your environment change/get the signal that you are ready to arrive at your DR.
When you’re certain you’ve arrived, remove the blanket from your head and open your eyes; welcome to your desired reality!
